What type of vehicles am I permitted to drive with it?

Vehicles up to 3,500 kg Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM), which are designed and manufactured with up to 8 passenger seats, as well as a combination of such vehicle and a trailer specified in the applicable rule of law.

Preconditions:

• Valid identity document and address card
• At least primary education
• Valid medical aptitude certificate (not required if holding a valid driving licence with a medical aptitude expiry date)
• Min. age requirement: 16 years and 6 months

When can I take a theory test?
Min. age requirement: 16 years and 9 months

When can I take a driving test?
Min. age requirement: 17 years

Fees for official tests:

+ HUF 18 000 for first-aid exam (if required). You are not required to take the first-aid exam if you obtained a driving licence of any category after January 1, 1984, or you have any of the qualifications specified in the GKM Decree No. 24/2005 (IV.21.).

Official driving theory test: 55 minutes

Basics: 9 lessons
Driving in built-up areas: 14 lessons
Driving outside built-up areas: 4 lessons
Nighttime driving: 2 lessons
Official driving test: 1 lesson
Total: 30 lessons
